T as in Timeless
By Abi May
Sometimes I wonder if becoming so obsessed with dedicated to reading a book that catches my attention is healthy. I think for writing reviews and keeping my nose out of my phone, it is. But when I am reading under my blanket at 3:00am while SOBBING at the love and loss characters experience, then I think… maybe not so much.
T as in Timeless is one of those novels that left my dog wondering why the kindle light was coming from my room when the rest of the house was sleeping.
Book blurb: Tessa Shaw is your average fifteen year old girl, in school, working hard, and she's just had her heart broken by the school's heart throb, Drew. Enter Taylor Lewis, Drew's ex-best friend and Tessa's neighbour for as long as she can remember. From there, their friendship blossoms. They move away, meet back up, part and come back together for years as each of then navigate growing up, stepping out into the world and discovering the eras of themselves that they are creating.
Their friendship is tested through loves and losses, heartbreaks and arguments, but in some way they are destined to be in one another's life, even when life gets a little out of hand.
Review: T as in Timeless showcases what it is like to love and be loved, by the right person at the wrong time. Abi May does an amazing job of making us fall in love with 15 year old Tessa, complete with awkward interactions and teenager-like tendencies. Over time, we see Tessa grow and flourish into a woman, and along the way we are privy to all the things that make Tessa who she is. T as in Timeless makes you fall in love with Tessa and Taylor (the leading male character), while also being privy to their experiences, their love for one another, and loss that is felt. I would be lying if I said I didn’t have to wipe a few tears off my Kindle! T as in Timeless was a great read, and one that has left me (not so patiently) waiting for the release of the sequel in December 2023!
This is the first self published book I have read, and it has opened my eyes to a new world of reading. As someone who is always looking to support indie authors, T as in Timeless has shown me that I can read love-filled and awe-inspiring novels by purchasing self published books.
To sum up this review I leave you with these words…
“T as in… transformative.”
